TotalEnergies SE, a global integrated energy powerhouse based in Courbevoie, France, and established in 1924 (operating as TOTAL SE until its rebranding in June 2021), conducts its extensive business through four core divisions. The Integrated Gas, Renewables & Power segment oversees the entire liquefied natural gas (LNG) lifecycle, encompassing production, shipping, trading, and regasification. This division is also active in the trading of various commodities, including liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), petcoke, sulfur, natural gas, and electricity, as well as natural gas transportation. A significant focus is placed on electricity generation from diverse sources like natural gas, wind, solar, hydroelectric, and biogas, alongside the development and operation of biomethane production facilities, energy storage provisions, and energy efficiency solutions. The Exploration & Production division is dedicated to discovering and extracting crude oil and natural gas resources. Within the Refining & Chemicals segment, the company processes crude oil into petrochemicals such as olefins and aromatics, and manufactures polymer derivatives, including polyethylene, polypropylene, polystyrene, and hydrocarbon resins. This segment also handles biomass conversion, elastomer processing, and the global trading and shipping of both crude oil and refined petroleum products. Finally, the Marketing & Services division is responsible for producing and distributing lubricants, supplying and retailing a wide array of petroleum products—such as bulk fuel, aviation and marine fuel, specialized fluids, compressed natural gas (CNG), LPG, and bitumen—and providing fuel payment systems. This segment boasts a substantial operational footprint, including approximately 16,000 service stations and 25,000 electric vehicle charging points. As of December 31, 2021, TotalEnergies possessed combined proven oil and gas reserves totaling 12,062 million barrels of oil equivalent. The company has also forged strategic collaborations with PureCycle Technologies, Plastic Energy, Freepoint Eco-Systems, and Plastic Omnium for various development initiatives.
