Profile

Tidewater Inc., along with its affiliates, operates a global fleet of marine service vessels, providing essential offshore support and transportation solutions to the energy industry. The company's comprehensive services underpin offshore oil and natural gas exploration, field development, and production activities, extending also to the development and ongoing maintenance of windfarms. Their operational scope includes vital tasks such as towing and anchor handling for mobile offshore drilling units, as well as the crucial transport of personnel and necessary supplies to sustain drilling, workover, and production operations. Tidewater also offers support for offshore construction, seismic surveys, subsea operations, and specialized geotechnical surveys for windfarm infrastructure. Additionally, they undertake specialized services like pipe and cable laying. The company's diverse fleet comprises various types of vessels: Deepwater vessels: This category includes platform supply vessels and high-horsepower anchor handling tug supply (AHTS) vessels, primarily deployed to move equipment and provisions from onshore bases to deepwater and intermediate-depth offshore drilling rigs and production platforms. Towing-supply vessels: These are utilized in intermediate and shallower marine environments. Crew boats, utility vessels, and offshore tugs: These facilitate the transportation of personnel and supplies from shore to a wide array of offshore installations, including drilling rigs and production platforms. Offshore tugs also play a role in towing floating drilling rigs and barges, assisting with tanker docking maneuvers, and supporting pipe laying, cable laying, and construction barges. Tidewater's client base is broad, encompassing major oil and natural gas exploration, field development, and production companies, as well as smaller independent exploration and production firms, government-owned or controlled organizations, drilling contractors, and other related enterprises in offshore construction, windfarm development, diving, and well stimulation. As of December 31, 2021, the company maintained a substantial fleet of 135 vessels. Tidewater Inc. was established in 1956 and maintains its corporate headquarters in Houston, Texas.
