Its operations are structured across six primary divisions: Banking, Credit Card, Securities, Life Insurance, Credit, and a miscellaneous "Others" category. For individual customers, the group furnishes retail banking provisions such as current, savings, and time deposit accounts; checking facilities; various forms of personal lending including mortgages and home equity loans; digital banking platforms; ATM access; and essential transactional services like bill payments, payroll processing, check cashing, foreign currency exchange, and wire transfers. In the corporate sector, it extends a broad spectrum of services, encompassing investment banking, funding for real estate and international development projects, infrastructure and structured finance, equity and venture capital investments, and advisory for mergers and acquisitions. Furthermore, its corporate offerings include securitization and derivatives products, foreign exchange trading, and diverse loan types such as working capital and facilities financing. The group also participates actively in treasury and investment endeavors within global capital markets, engaging in the trading of foreign currency securities, foreign exchange services and transactions, trade finance, international factoring, and conducting overseas banking operations. Complementing these, Shinhan provides trust management, securities brokerage, and asset management services. Its wider portfolio includes leasing and equipment financing, savings bank operations, debt collection and credit reporting, oversight of collective investment schemes, private equity investments, and the development of financial systems. By the close of 2021, its extensive operational footprint comprised 784 service centers, 5,234 automated teller machines (ATMs), 7 cash dispensers, and 85 digital kiosks. Established in 1982, Shinhan Financial Group Co., Ltd. maintains its headquarters in Seoul, South Korea.
