Profile

PLDT Inc., a major player in the Philippine market, offers a comprehensive range of telecommunication and digital services. Its operations are structured into three primary segments: Wireless, Fixed Line, and 'Others'. Within its Wireless division, the company provides essential cellular mobile communication, distributes internet broadband, offers operational support, develops software, and delivers satellite-based information and messaging services. It also sells equipment for Wi-Fi access. The Fixed Line segment covers traditional telecommunications alongside the development and deployment of business infrastructure and innovative solutions. This includes intelligent data processing and implementation, generating insights through data analytics, and building robust information and communications infrastructure to facilitate various internet-based services, e-commerce platforms, customer relationship management (CRM) systems, and other IT-related applications. Furthermore, PLDT's expansive portfolio extends to managed IT outsourcing, internet-based procurement, and specialized IT consulting and professional services. The company also handles bills printing, offers other value-added services, and even provides air transportation. It is involved in distributing Filipino channels and content, and designs comprehensive customer rewards and loyalty programs. Beyond services, PLDT markets a variety of products, including mobile handsets, broadband data routers, tablets, and their associated accessories. It also supplies domestic leased lines and contemporary messaging solutions, such as over-the-top (OTT) services, social media integration, and messenger applications. As of December 31, 2021, PLDT had amassed a significant customer base, reporting 71,221,952 mobile broadband subscribers, 3,619,372 fixed line subscribers, and an additional 2.8 million broadband subscribers. Founded in 1928, the company initially operated as the Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company before officially rebranding to PLDT Inc. in July 2016.
