Profile

Energy Transfer LP, a company established in 1996 and headquartered in Dallas, Texas, offers a diverse array of energy-related services. Its natural gas division boasts an expansive network, comprising approximately 11,600 miles of natural gas transportation pipeline and an additional 19,945 miles of interstate natural gas pipeline. The firm also manages five natural gas storage facilities; three are located in Texas, with two others spanning Texas and Oklahoma. Energy Transfer supplies natural gas to a broad client base, which includes electric utilities, independent power generators, local distribution and marketing enterprises, and various industrial consumers. The company's operations extend to natural gas gathering, natural gas liquids (NGL) pipelines, processing facilities, and treating and conditioning infrastructure. These critical assets are strategically distributed across several states, notably Texas, New Mexico, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Kansas, and Louisiana. Furthermore, it oversees natural gas gathering, oil pipeline, and oil stabilization facilities in South Texas, alongside a natural gas gathering system in Ohio, and provides water transportation and supply services to natural gas producers in Pennsylvania. In its NGL segment, Energy Transfer possesses approximately 5,650 miles of NGL pipeline, NGL fractionation plants, and substantial NGL storage capacities. This includes about 58 million barrels (MMBbls) of working storage capacity and an aggregated 25 MMBbls across its other NGL storage assets and terminals. Beyond these activities, the company is involved in crude oil transportation, terminalling, acquisition, and marketing. It also engages in the sale and distribution of refined petroleum products such as gasoline, middle distillates, and various motor fuels. Energy Transfer LP also delivers a range of specialized services, including natural gas compression, the removal of carbon dioxide and hydrogen sulfide, and the management of coal and other natural resources. This management includes selling standing timber, leasing coal-related infrastructure facilities, collecting oil and gas royalties, and generating electrical power. The company, formerly known as Energy Transfer Equity, L.P., officially changed its name to Energy Transfer LP in October 2018.
