Consolidated Edison, Inc. operates regulated utility businesses specializing in the delivery of electricity, natural gas, and steam. Its electric services reach approximately 3.5 million customers across New York City and Westchester County, with an additional 0.3 million customers served in southeastern New York and northern New Jersey. For natural gas, the company supplies about 1.1 million customers in Manhattan, the Bronx, specific parts of Queens, and Westchester County, supplemented by service to roughly 0.1 million customers in southeastern New York. Steam delivery is provided to approximately 1,555 customers within certain districts of Manhattan. The company's extensive infrastructure includes 533 circuit miles of transmission lines, 15 transmission substations, and 64 distribution substations. Supporting its electric distribution, Con Edison maintains 87,564 in-service line transformers, 3,924 pole miles of overhead lines, and 2,291 miles of underground lines. Its natural gas network comprises 4,350 miles of mains and 377,971 service lines. Beyond these core operations, Consolidated Edison owns, operates, and develops renewable energy and broader energy infrastructure projects. It also furnishes energy-related products and services to both wholesale and retail clients and makes strategic investments in electric and gas transmission initiatives. Con Edison primarily serves industrial, commercial, residential, and governmental accounts. Founded in 1823, the company is headquartered in New York, New York.
