The company's operations are structured into two primary divisions. The General Insurance segment addresses a vast spectrum of risks, encompassing various liability coverages like general, environmental, commercial automobile, workers' compensation, and crisis management policies. It also provides specialized professional liability solutions for areas such as directors and officers, mergers and acquisitions, cyber risk, employment practices, and errors and omissions. Property insurance for commercial, industrial, and energy sectors is offered, alongside specialized coverages for aerospace, political risk, trade credit, crop, and marine risks. For individual customers, this segment includes personal lines such as auto, homeowners, umbrella, yacht, fine art, and collections insurance, in addition to personal accident, supplemental health, extended warranty, and travel insurance products. The Life and Retirement segment is dedicated to long-term financial security and wealth management. It offers a broad portfolio of annuity products, including variable, index, fixed, structured settlement, and pension risk transfer options, along with stable value wrap products. This segment also provides diverse life insurance policies, such as term, universal, corporate-owned, and bank-owned life insurance, complemented by retail mutual funds and guaranteed investment contracts. Furthermore, it delivers comprehensive financial planning, advisory, record-keeping, and compliance services. AIG distributes its Life and Retirement offerings through a wide-ranging network that includes independent marketing organizations, agents, financial advisors, banks, broker-dealers, and direct marketing channels.
