Anavex Life Sciences Corp. is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company dedicated to discovering and advancing drug candidates for central nervous system (CNS) disorders. Their most advanced experimental therapy, ANAVEX 2-73, is undergoing Phase III clinical evaluation for Alzheimer's disease and pediatric Rett syndrome. It is also in Phase II trials for Parkinson's disease, and earlier preclinical studies are exploring its potential for epilepsy, infantile spasms, Fragile X syndrome, Angelman syndrome, multiple sclerosis, and tuberous sclerosis complex. Another compound, ANAVEX 3-71, is currently in Phase I clinical trials for frontotemporal dementia and other forms of dementia, while also being investigated in preclinical studies for neurodegenerative conditions such as Alzheimer's and Parkinson's. The company's preclinical portfolio includes ANAVEX 1-41, a sigma-1 receptor agonist being developed for depression, stroke, Parkinson's, and Alzheimer's; ANAVEX 1066, a mixed sigma-1/sigma-2 ligand targeting neuropathic and visceral pain; and ANAVEX 1037, which is being explored for prostate and pancreatic cancer.
