Profile

Operating globally with its subsidiaries, OCI Company Ltd. specializes in the production and sale of fundamental chemical products across South Korea, the United States, China, Asia, Europe, and other international regions. Its business is structured into four main segments: Basic Chemicals, Carbon Chemicals, Energy Solutions, and other diversified operations. Within its Basic Chemicals segment, OCI offers polysilicon, crucial for solar energy generation and semiconductor manufacturing. It also produces phosphoric acid, utilized in semiconductor wafer and LCD etching, as well as food additives and metal surface treatments. Hydrogen peroxide is another key product, serving as an eco-friendly oxidizing agent in the healthcare, food, and cosmetic industries. Furthermore, the company provides fumed silica for applications in construction, automotive, and semiconductor sectors, alongside vacuum insulation panels. The petrochemical and carbon materials portfolio includes carbon black, which enhances rubber's elasticity and color, and is also found in inks, paints, and conductive materials. Benzene, toluene, and xylene are supplied as foundational raw materials. Pitch is offered as a binding agent, particularly in anodes for aluminum smelting and other adhesive applications. OCI also provides plasticizers to improve the flexibility, cold resistance, and workability of PVC products, and TDI, used in foam-based items like vehicle components, mattresses, paints, and adhesives. Beyond chemicals, the company develops and operates solar photovoltaic (PV) power plants and cogeneration facilities. It manufactures and distributes a range of products including percarbonate, solar trackers, solar panels, pesticides, coal tar, and additional carbon black, alongside various solar energy equipment and associated materials. OCI is also involved in real estate development, invests in and manages information systems, provides steam and hot water utilities, and offers staffing and employment solutions for business support services. Historically, the company operated under the name DC Chemical Co., Ltd. before officially rebranding to OCI Company Ltd. in April 2009. Established in 1959, its corporate headquarters are situated in Seoul, South Korea.
