It develops railway and transportation infrastructure, manages infrastructure maintenance, and provides comprehensive logistics, multimodal transportation, and warehousing services. The company additionally sells electric power facilities and engages in ship charter operations. In the chemicals and materials domain, Mitsui handles a broad spectrum of products, from basic, industrial, gas, and specialty chemicals (including methanol, ammonia, chlor-alkali, and salt) to performance, advanced, living, and environmental materials, as well as agrochemicals, fertilizers, and animal and human nutrition products. Its food and lifestyle division deals with refined sugar, oils and fats, proteins, grains, food and beverage products, contract food services, and healthcare products. Furthermore, Mitsui extends its reach into diverse service and finance areas such as mobile communications, commodity derivative trading, venture investment, and asset management. It also engages in real estate development, management, leasing, and brokerage, alongside offering various other financial and leasing activities.
