Its extensive operations are structured across seven distinct business segments. The Automotive segment handles vehicle assembly and sales, auto financing, and parts quality assurance for manufacturers, also acting as an authorized dealer for luxury car brands. The Aerospace & Transportation Project division focuses on aircraft leasing, spare parts, business jet services, and developing transportation infrastructure. Its Infrastructure & Healthcare arm spearheads projects in medical facilities, telecommunications, and urban development. The Metals, Mineral Resources & Recycling segment encompasses coal acquisition, contract mining, metal ventures (including midstream and downstream activities), and exploring novel industrial applications. The Chemicals unit trades a wide array of products, from fundamental chemicals to advanced functional materials. The Consumer Industry & Agriculture Business builds models spanning agribusiness, food products, marine goods, animal feed, and forest products, with a strong emphasis on food safety and security, additionally handling marine processing, wholesale distribution, and fertilizers. Finally, the Retail & Consumer Service division manages food and consumer goods distribution, shopping centers, textile operations, and real estate ventures. Beyond these core areas, Sojitz also provides logistics and insurance services and deals in diverse equipment such as automotive and motorcycle components, marine equipment, industrial machinery, cutting-edge technology products, bearings, and nuclear power-related apparatus. Established in 2003, the company maintains its headquarters in Tokyo, Japan.
