Profile

Ascentage Pharma Group International (ASPHF) is a clinical-stage biotechnology firm that develops novel therapeutic agents. Its primary focus areas include oncological conditions, chronic hepatitis B (HBV), and age-related diseases, with operations concentrated in the United States and Mainland China. A cornerstone of its pipeline is HQP1351, a BCR-ABL inhibitor specifically engineered to combat BCR-ABL mutants, including those bearing the challenging T315I mutation. This compound is particularly aimed at individuals suffering from chronic phase chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) that has proven resistant to conventional tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI) treatments. Ascentage's diverse pipeline further includes APG-2575, an orally administered selective Bcl-2 inhibitor currently in Phase Ib/II clinical studies for hematologic malignancies and solid tumors. Another asset is APG-115, an oral small molecule designed to disrupt the MDM2-p53 protein-protein interaction, also intended for solid tumors and blood cancers. Additionally, APG-1387, a small molecule inhibitor of apoptosis proteins, is being developed for advanced solid tumors and chronic HBV infection. Beyond these, Ascentage is actively advancing APG-1252, a small molecule drug engineered to induce apoptosis by selectively inhibiting Bcl-2 and Bcl-xL proteins, targeting small cell lung cancer (SCLC), lymphoma, and various other solid tumors. Other ongoing projects include APG-2449 for non-small-cell lung carcinoma, and APG-5918, a promising orally available and selective EED inhibitor with best-in-class potential, currently in the preclinical stage. Furthermore, APG-265 is in IND-enabling studies for hematological and solid malignancies, while UBX1967/1325, aimed at the Bcl family for diabetic macular edema (DME), is undergoing Phase II development. The company maintains strategic collaboration agreements with prominent biotechnology and pharmaceutical enterprises, as well as respected academic institutions. Notable partners include Innovent Biologics, Inc., the National Cancer Institute, Pfizer Inc., and Clover Biopharmaceuticals (Hong Kong) Co., Limited. Founded in 2009, Ascentage Pharma's corporate headquarters are situated in Suzhou, China.
