Global: This segment specializes in securing and managing network and cloud infrastructure and services for multinational corporations, providing advanced voice and data network solutions such as managed services, security, and IT infrastructure support. 4. Openreach: Responsible for the critical fixed connectivity access network, this division links a vast array of locations including homes, mobile phone masts, schools, shops, banks, hospitals, libraries, broadcasters, government entities, and businesses of all sizes. Openreach also provides "last mile" services, diligently installing and maintaining both fiber and copper communication networks from exchanges directly to end-user premises. BT Group also maintains a strategic partnership with Microsoft, enhancing its technological offerings. Established in 2001 and initially operating as Newgate Telecommunications Limited, the company officially adopted the name BT Group plc in September of that same year.
