Furthermore, its energy portfolio encompasses the operation and management of three coal-fired combined heat and power plants in China, with a combined capacity of 539 megawatts, as well as thermal power plants in Lao PDR. Diversifying into sustainable energy, Banpu is active in renewable projects such as solar farms in Japan and a wind farm in Vietnam. The company also offers advanced energy solutions, including solar rooftop installations for industrial and large commercial clients, energy storage systems, electric vehicle and fleet management services, and consultation for customized energy management systems, all contributing to a broader clean energy ecosystem. Beyond these core functions, Banpu's extensive business activities cover power and steam production, procurement, and trading; provident fund administration; general solar power generation; logistics; sales and marketing; natural gas operations; strategic investments in power and renewable energy; research and development; coal trading; business consultancy; and fuel trading services. The company was previously known as Ban Pu Coal Company Limited before adopting its current name, Banpu Public Company Limited, in July 1993.
