LANXESS AG is a global producer and supplier of a diverse range of specialized chemical products, encompassing chemical intermediates, various additives, distinct specialty chemicals, and advanced plastics. The company's operations are strategically organized into four distinct divisions: Advanced Intermediates, Specialty Additives, Consumer Protection, and Engineering Materials. The Advanced Intermediates division delivers sophisticated industrial building blocks, fundamental and specialized chemical compounds, organometallic substances, and mineral-based pigments. These offerings serve a broad spectrum of sectors, including agriculture, automotive manufacturing, building and construction, fragrances and food additives, semiconductor and solar energy production, and the color pigment industry. Within the Specialty Additives segment, LANXESS provides an array of performance-enhancing additives. This portfolio includes lubricants, fire retardants, plasticizing agents, and bromine-derived compounds, which find extensive use in applications across the rubber, plastics, coatings, construction, and electrical sectors. The Consumer Protection division focuses on solutions for safeguarding materials, along with disinfectant, sanitation, and preservation agents. It also supplies flavors and scents, as well as crucial precursors and intermediates for the agrochemical, pharmaceutical, and specialty chemical industries. Furthermore, this segment offers advanced technologies for purifying water and other liquid substances. The Engineering Materials segment is responsible for manufacturing high-performance technical plastics, glass fibers, composite materials, and urethane-based elastomers. These advanced materials are vital for applications in the automotive, electrical and electronics, construction, and medical industries, as well as in the sports and recreation markets. Established in 1863, the company maintains its corporate headquarters in Cologne, Germany.
