Profile

BASF SE, a global chemical enterprise, conducts its operations through six distinct business units: Chemicals, Materials, Industrial Solutions, Surface Technologies, Nutrition & Care, and Agricultural Solutions. The Chemicals division is a supplier of petrochemicals and intermediate products. The Materials segment specializes in advanced substances and their foundational components, including isocyanates and polyamides, alongside inorganic basic chemicals and tailored products for both plastic manufacturing and processing industries. Industrial Solutions innovates and commercializes a range of ingredients and additives for diverse industrial uses, encompassing polymer dispersions, pigments, resins, electronic materials, antioxidants, light stabilizers, oilfield chemicals, as well as mineral processing and hydrometallurgical chemicals. Surface Technologies furnishes chemical treatments and original equipment manufacturer (OEM) offerings for the automotive and chemical industries, covering applications like refinish coatings, surface preparations, catalysts, battery components, and services related to precious and base metals. The Nutrition & Care unit provides nutritional and personal care inputs for producers in the food, animal feed, pharmaceutical, cosmetics, detergent, and cleaning sectors. Lastly, the Agricultural Solutions segment offers various crop protection items, such as fungicides, herbicides, insecticides, and biological solutions for crop cultivation, in addition to seed treatment products. BASF SE also maintains a strategic alliance with Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited, concentrating on battery material advancements, particularly cathode active materials and battery recycling. The company was established in 1865, with its corporate headquarters located in Ludwigshafen am Rhein, Germany.
