Profile

Telstra Corporation Limited is a prominent provider of telecommunication and information solutions, serving businesses, government entities, and individual consumers across Australia and internationally. The company's operations are structured into four key divisions: Telstra Consumer and Small Business, Telstra Enterprise, Networks and IT, and Telstra InfraCo. Its extensive product and service portfolio encompasses mobile communications, fixed and wireless broadband internet, media offerings, and digital content, available through both prepaid and post-paid plans. Telstra also maintains a widespread customer service presence through its call centers, branded retail stores, and an extensive dealership network. For large enterprises and government clients, Telstra delivers specialized services such as network capacity and management, unified communication systems, cloud solutions, tailored industry applications, and integrated monitoring services. The company is actively involved in developing and overseeing various digital platforms, and supplies telecommunication products and services to other network operators, carriage service providers, and internet service providers. A significant part of its business involves the operation and maintenance of crucial fixed passive network infrastructure, which encompasses data centers, telecommunication exchanges, poles, conduits, pits, pipes, an expansive fiber optic network, and mobile communication towers. Telstra's wholesale division facilitates access to this infrastructure for other organizations, providing long-term access to various components and network services through dedicated infrastructure service agreements and commercial arrangements. Furthermore, the company undertakes the design and construction of new fiber optic networks, exchanges, and other critical infrastructure. Established in Melbourne, Australia, in 1901, the company initially operated under the name Australian and Overseas Telecommunications Corporation Limited before officially adopting the name Telstra Corporation Limited in April 1993.
