Profile

Taiheiyo Cement Corporation, a Tokyo-headquartered enterprise founded in 1881, operates globally across a wide spectrum of industrial sectors, including cement production, mineral resource management, environmental solutions, and construction materials, alongside a diverse array of other ventures. Its Cement division manufactures essential building components like ordinary Portland cement, specialized cement blends, soil stabilizers, and ready-mixed concrete. The Mineral Resources segment supplies various aggregates, such as limestone, sandstone, and andesite, crucial for concrete and civil engineering applications. This division also provides quicklime, slaked lime, fillers, silica products, and specialty minerals including hollow ceramics, sepiolite, wollastonite, and kaolin, while also engaging in the recycling of construction surplus soil. Taiheiyo’s Environmental segment undertakes extensive recycling initiatives for a multitude of waste streams, encompassing used tires, plastics, paper sludge, industrial and municipal wastes, and various forms of sewage and dredging sludge. The company also handles CFC treatment, operates waste processing plants, and develops advanced recycling technologies like ash washing and specialized kiln systems. Additionally, it supplies flue gas desulfurization materials such as calcium carbonate and trades in slag powder, other inorganic materials, fuels (coal, heavy oil), chemicals, and gypsum. The Construction Materials unit produces precast concrete goods, paving elements like promenades and interlocking blocks, concrete housing components, noise-reduction acoustic panels, and fireproof covering materials for tunnels. Finally, the 'Other Businesses' segment encompasses real estate development and leasing (for offices, retail, leisure, and warehousing), data processing, transportation and logistics, engineering services, chemical product manufacturing, and sports-related operations.
