Profile

OncoSec Medical Incorporated is a late-stage immuno-oncology firm dedicated to creating, advancing, and bringing to market DNA-based therapeutics designed for direct injection into tumors. These therapies aim to activate and amplify the body's anti-cancer immune responses. Its primary therapeutic candidate, ImmunoPulse IL-12 (also known as TAVO), employs an electroporation device to administer DNA encoding interleukin-12 directly into tumors, thereby counteracting the tumor's immunosuppressive environment. OncoSec's clinical pipeline includes several programs for ImmunoPulse IL-12. In combination with KEYTRUDA, it is being investigated for advanced melanoma (under a collaboration and supply agreement, KEYNOTE-695) and for metastatic triple-negative breast cancer (currently in Phase II trials, KEYNOTE-890). Earlier Phase II trials of ImmunoPulse IL-12 combined with KEYTRUDA for advanced or metastatic melanoma, and ImmunoPulse IL-12 as a monotherapy for metastatic melanoma, have both been completed. The company has also completed a Phase II monotherapy biomarker study for advanced or metastatic TNBC. Furthermore, OncoSec is developing its technology for broader application in treating various visceral lesions, including those in the liver, lungs, bladder, and pancreas. Strategic alliances are central to OncoSec's strategy, including clinical trial collaborations with Merck & Co., Inc. for the KEYNOTE-695 and KEYNOTE-890 studies. Research collaborations include Duke University's Center for Applied Therapeutics, exploring TAVO alongside a HER2-plasmid vaccine, and Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center, focusing on intravital microscopy and enhanced IL-12 DNA-plasmids. The company also collaborates with Providence Cancer Institute. Originally incorporated in 2008 as NetVentory Solutions Inc., the company rebranded to OncoSec Medical Incorporated in March 2011 and operates from its headquarters in Pennington, New Jersey.
