Profile

Neo Performance Materials Inc., founded in 1994 and headquartered in Toronto, Canada, is an international producer and supplier of rare earth elements, magnetic powders, magnets, and specialized rare metal-based functional materials. The company operates through three distinct segments. Its Magnequench division manufactures advanced magnetic powders crucial for bonded and hot deformed fully dense neodymium-iron-boron magnets, which are then integrated into permanent magnets for applications in automotive, micro, and traction motors, as well as various sensors. The Chemicals and Oxides segment produces and distributes a wide array of industrial materials utilized in sectors including auto and petroleum refining catalysts, magnets, hybrid and electric vehicles, water treatment, and consumer electronics. Finally, the Rare Metals segment is involved in the sourcing, production, reclamation, refining, and marketing of high-temperature metals like tantalum, niobium, hafnium, and rhenium, alongside electronic metals such as gallium and indium. These specialized metals are essential for superalloys in jet engines, medical imaging, wireless technologies, LED lighting, flat panel displays, solar energy, steel additives, batteries, and a multitude of other electronic applications.
