Founded in 1970 and headquartered in Central, Hong Kong, New World Development Company Limited functions as an investment holding company with a broad and diverse portfolio of businesses. Its primary focus is property development and investment, encompassing a wide range of residential, retail, office, and industrial properties located across Hong Kong and various international markets. Beyond real estate, the company's extensive operations include commercial aircraft leasing, infrastructure management such as operating expressways, and undertaking both residential and commercial construction projects. It also provides financial services, specifically protection and savings-related life and medical insurance products. Further diversifying its interests, New World Development participates in duty-free operations, general trading, civil engineering, and marketing and promotional activities, including loyalty programs. The company is also involved in fashion retailing and trading, piling and ground investigation, the development and operation of sports parks, household goods stores, convenience stores, and the sale of LED lighting products and systems, alongside trading telecommunication system integration products. In the hospitality and retail sectors, the company manages the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, operates hotels (which, as of June 30, 2021, included 18 properties with approximately 7,503 rooms across Hong Kong, Mainland China, and Southeast Asia), golf and tennis academies, shopping malls, and department stores. New World Development also offers an extensive array of services, including information technology, healthcare, training, ticketing, financial services, project management, general management, advertising and media-related services, business and investment consultancy, franchised and non-franchised bus transportation, estate agency, wellness and rehabilitation, endoscopic services, carpark management, supply chain management, and catering. This comprehensive service offering extends to property agency, management, and consultancy. Additionally, the company undertakes specialized façade and foundation works and provides residential and nursing care services for the elderly.
