Profile

Enstar Group Limited, founded in 1993 and based in Hamilton, Bermuda, specializes in acquiring and actively managing insurance and reinsurance companies and their portfolios once they cease writing new policies (referred to as "run-off"). Operating globally, the company oversees run-off liabilities across a diverse array of segments, including property and casualty, other reinsurance lines, life and catastrophe coverage, and legacy underwriting. Beyond its primary focus on run-off management, Enstar also engages in various investment activities. The company extends its expertise to the insurance and reinsurance industries by offering a comprehensive suite of consulting services. These services encompass detailed claims inspection, validation, and resolution, as well as the collection of reinsurance assets, syndicate management, and IT consulting. Specifically for Lloyd's syndicates and their leadership, Enstar provides technical inspections of records, claims investigations, diligence services, and solutions designed to achieve finality. Additionally, it offers broker replacement, claims resolution, and incentive-based collection services to both reinsurers and Lloyd's syndicates. The organization was previously known as Castlewood Holdings Limited before officially changing its name to Enstar Group Limited in January 2007.
