Profile

Enbridge Inc. and its subsidiaries operate as a major energy infrastructure company, structured across five core business segments. The Liquids Pipelines division manages extensive networks of pipelines and associated terminals, facilitating the transport of various grades of crude oil and other liquid hydrocarbons throughout Canada and the United States. The Gas Transmission and Midstream segment primarily invests in natural gas pipeline systems, as well as gas gathering and processing facilities, spanning both Canada and the U.S. Its Gas Distribution and Storage unit oversees natural gas utility services for residential, commercial, and industrial customers in Ontario, alongside natural gas distribution activities in Quebec. The Renewable Power Generation segment is responsible for operating diverse power generation assets, including wind, solar, geothermal, and waste heat recovery facilities, in addition to transmission infrastructure across North America. The Energy Services segment provides essential physical commodity marketing and logistical services to refiners, producers, and other clients throughout Canada and the United States. Founded in 1949, the company was initially known as IPL Energy Inc. before officially changing its name to Enbridge Inc. in October 1998. Enbridge Inc. is headquartered in Calgary, Canada.
