PPG Industries, Inc. is a global enterprise specializing in the production and distribution of paints, diverse coatings, and advanced specialty materials. The company's operations are segmented into Performance Coatings and Industrial Coatings. The Performance Coatings division offers an extensive product line, including coatings, solvents, adhesives, sealants, and supporting materials, along with software solutions, primarily for the repair and refurbishment of automotive and commercial vehicles, light industrial applications, and specialized signage. This segment also provides critical aerospace products such as coatings, sealants, transparencies, transparent armor, adhesives, and engineered materials, alongside packaging and chemical management services for commercial, military, regional jet, and general aviation aircraft. Additionally, it supplies protective coatings and finishes for metals and structures, serving fabricators, heavy-duty maintenance contractors, and manufacturers of ships, bridges, and rail cars. For architectural and decorative purposes, it manufactures paints, wood stains, and adhesives for both professional contractors and consumers, used in residential and commercial buildings. Pavement marking solutions, including paints, thermoplastics, and other technologies, are also part of its offerings. The Industrial Coatings segment delivers coatings, adhesives, sealants, and metal pretreatments, along with application services, for a broad spectrum of industrial goods. These include appliances, agricultural and construction machinery, consumer electronics, automotive components, building materials, kitchenware, and various transportation vehicles and finished products, often providing on-site coating services. This segment also produces coatings for metal cans, closures, plastic tubes, and promotional/specialty packaging. Furthermore, it encompasses specialty materials like amorphous precipitated silica for tires and battery separators; TESLIN substrates used in labels, e-passports, drivers' licenses, breathable membranes, and identification cards; and advanced materials for organic light-emitting diodes, display/lighting lenses, optical lenses, color-changing products, and photochromic dyes. Established in 1883, PPG Industries, Inc. is headquartered in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
