NTPC Limited is an Indian enterprise primarily engaged in the large-scale production and distribution of electricity, supplying power mainly to state-owned utilities across India. Its business operations are categorized into two main segments: "Generation of Energy" and a broader "Other" category. The company employs a diverse range of energy sources for power generation, encompassing conventional options such as coal, gas, and liquid fuels, as well as renewable and cleaner alternatives like hydro, solar, nuclear, wind, and various other thermal technologies. Beyond its core power production, NTPC also provides expert services in consultancy, project management, and supervision. Its additional ventures include participation in energy trading, oil and gas exploration, and coal mining. The company also extends its electricity supply to private distribution companies (DISCOMs) operating throughout various Indian states. As of August 5, 2022, NTPC maintained an impressive installed capacity of 54,818 megawatts (MW) and a commercial capacity reaching 69,183 MW. Established in 1975, NTPC Limited has its corporate headquarters situated in New Delhi, India.
