Profile

FibroGen, Inc. is a biopharmaceutical firm dedicated to discovering, developing, and bringing to market therapies that address significant medical conditions currently lacking effective treatments. Among its pipeline, FibroGen is advancing Roxadustat, an orally administered small molecule that inhibits hypoxia inducible factor prolyl hydroxylases. This drug has successfully completed Phase III clinical trials in the US, Europe, China, and Japan for treating anemia in chronic kidney disease, and is currently in Phase II/III development in China for anemia linked to myelodysplastic syndromes. Additionally, the company is progressing Pamrevlumab, a human monoclonal antibody designed to block connective tissue growth factor. Pamrevlumab is undergoing Phase III clinical development for multiple conditions including idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, pancreatic cancer, liver fibrosis, and diabetic kidney disease, with a separate Phase III trial also underway for Duchenne muscular dystrophy.
