Profile

Larsen & Toubro Limited, established in Mumbai, India in 1938, is a global conglomerate specializing in engineering, construction, and manufacturing. Its diverse operations span multiple key sectors worldwide. The company's Infrastructure division is responsible for designing and constructing a wide range of projects, including commercial and industrial buildings, extensive transportation networks, complex civil structures, electricity transmission and distribution systems, critical water and wastewater management facilities, and advanced material handling solutions. The Hydrocarbon segment delivers comprehensive engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) services tailored specifically for the oil and gas industry. For the Power sector, L&T provides complete project solutions for both coal-fired and gas-fired thermal power stations, encompassing essential generation equipment and all associated plant components. Its Heavy Engineering unit focuses on crafting bespoke, specialized equipment and intricate systems vital for sectors such as fertilizers, refining, petrochemicals, chemicals, oil and gas, and both conventional thermal and nuclear power generation. Within Defence Engineering, L&T is involved in the entire lifecycle—from design and development to production and ongoing support—of critical equipment, systems, and platforms for defense and aerospace applications. This segment also constructs, maintains, and refurbishes naval vessels. Finally, the Other segments encompass real estate ventures, smart urban solutions, and communication technologies (including specialized military communication systems), alongside the sales and maintenance of heavy construction and mining equipment, and the production and distribution of rubber processing machinery. This division further manages digital initiatives, notably SuFin, a business-to-business e-commerce portal, and EduTech, which focuses on advanced education and vocational training.
