Beyond manufacturing, Hanwha engages in the production and commercialization of petrochemicals. Its service offerings are extensive, covering the management of athletic complexes, sports organizations, golf courses, and department stores. They also operate in the hospitality and leisure sectors through resorts, hotels, and catering services, alongside significant involvement in real estate, food distribution, and oil importation. The company provides engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) services, as well as insurance and property development. Furthermore, Hanwha dedicates resources to research and development for industrial equipment, participates in coal trading, and operates retail outlets for souvenirs and artisanal goods. Their engineering and construction division delivers services for architectural structures, industrial plants, and environmental infrastructure. A comprehensive suite of financial services is also offered, including pension schemes, business consulting, leasing, asset management, securities investment, financial lending, and investment fund management, complemented by stock brokering. Specialized services encompass gunpowder production and advisory, blasting operations, deposit management, and computer system administration. In the agricultural sector, Hanwha processes and distributes farm, livestock, and forestry products. They are also instrumental in natural resource and mine development, alongside offering installment savings. The corporation manages public and environmental facilities such as sewage treatment plants, aquariums, pollution control systems, botanical gardens, and zoos. Established in 1952 as Korea Explosives Corp., the company rebranded to Hanwha Corporation in March 1993 and maintains its headquarters in Seoul, South Korea.
