Established in 1897 and headquartered in Tokyo, Japan, UBE Corporation, formerly known as Ube Industries, Ltd., is a globally diversified enterprise with core operations spanning chemicals, construction materials, and machinery. The company maintains a substantial international footprint, serving markets across Japan, North America, Europe, Africa, the Middle East, Thailand, India, Latin America, and other global regions. UBE's extensive chemicals division provides a wide range of products including synthetic rubber, engineering plastics, polyimide, polyethylene, caprolactam, nylon, plastic films, polypropylene molded products, fibers, fiber-reinforced plastics, industrial chemicals, liquefied gases, ammonium sulfate, battery components, separation membranes, fine chemicals, ceramics, high-purity chemicals, semiconductor gas products, and materials for polyurethane resins. Additionally, the company offers specialized chemical services such as contract manufacturing for active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) and intermediates, supplies aromatic SF5 compounds, markets FLUOLEAD (a novel nucleophilic fluorinating agent), and supports drug discovery and pipeline development initiatives. Within the construction materials segment, UBE supplies essential products like cement, ready-mixed concrete, soil stabilizing cement, general building materials, limestone, calcia, magnesia, and other specialty inorganic compounds. This division also actively engages in resource recycling and the distribution of coal. The machinery segment focuses on the production and supply of die-casting and injection molding machines, extrusion presses, UBE vertical mills, kilns, furnaces, dryers, water screening equipment, storage and transportation systems, bridges, steel structures, along with steel billets, cast iron, and various other steel products. Beyond these core areas, UBE Corporation is also involved in the generation and supply of electric power.
