Its Essential Chemicals & Plastics segment manufactures synthetic resins such as polyethylene, polypropylene, and polymethyl methacrylate, alongside raw materials for synthetic fibers and various industrial chemicals. The Energy & Functional Materials division produces alumina and aluminum products for energy applications; resorcinol, a versatile compound used in tires, wood adhesives, flame retardants, and UV absorbents; polymer additives; rubber chemicals; and synthetic rubber with broad applications in tires, footwear, and construction. This segment also supplies engineering plastics and lithium-ion secondary battery materials crucial for electronic components and next-generation vehicles. Within IT-Related Chemicals, the company develops polarizing films, touch screen sensor panels, color resists, and polymer OLED materials for LC and OLED displays. It also provides photoresists and high-purity chemicals essential for the semiconductor manufacturing process, as well as compound semiconductor materials for communication terminal equipment, including antenna switches. The Health & Crop Sciences segment offers crop protection agents, fertilizers, feed additives, and household insecticides. Additionally, it supplies active pharmaceutical ingredients and intermediates, alongside products aimed at managing infectious diseases. Its Pharmaceuticals segment focuses on delivering both prescription medications and diagnostic pharmaceutical solutions. Finally, the "Others" segment encompasses a range of services, including the provision of electric power and steam, chemical plant engineering (design, construction, and supervision), logistics (transportation and warehousing), and specialized physical property and environmental analysis.
