Established in 1915 and headquartered in Anjo, Japan, Makita Corporation is a leading global manufacturer and distributor of an extensive array of tools. The company primarily focuses on producing and selling electric and pneumatic power tools, alongside equipment designed for gardening and household applications. Makita's comprehensive product lineup includes cordless devices, various drilling and fastening instruments, impact drills, demolition tools, grinding and sanding machinery, saws, planers, routers, and pneumatic equipment. They also supply outdoor power tools, dust extraction systems, a wide range of accessories, and specialized cutting solutions for materials such as new composites, masonry, and metals. All these offerings are marketed under the well-recognized Makita brand. The organization, which was originally known as Makita Electric Works, Ltd., formally changed its corporate name to Makita Corporation in April 1991.
