Profile

Key Energy Services, Inc., founded in Houston, Texas, in 1977 (and known as Key Energy Group, Inc. until December 1998), functions as a leading onshore rig-based well servicing provider across the United States. Its operations are structured into four main divisions. The Rig Services segment handles the completion of newly drilled wells, the workover and recompletion of existing oil and natural gas wells, routine well maintenance, and the decommissioning of wells at the end of their operational life, while also offering specialized drilling services to oil and gas producers. Its Fishing and Rental Services division specializes in recovering lost or stuck equipment from wellbores using unique tools and rents a wide array of equipment, including drill pipes, tubulars, handling tools, pressure-control devices, pumps, power swivels, and frac stack equipment crucial for hydraulic fracturing operations. The Coiled Tubing Services segment delivers services such as wellbore clean-outs, nitrogen jet lifts, through-tubing fishing, and formation stimulations, including the milling of temporary isolation plugs that delineate frac zones, alongside other preparatory and post-hydraulic fracturing well services. Lastly, the Fluid Management Services segment oversees the transport and on-site storage of fluids used in drilling, completions, workover, and maintenance tasks, as well as the disposal of fluids produced after well completion. This segment also operates a fleet of hot oilers designed to inject heated fluids to clear soluble obstructions within wellbores.
