Profile

Formycon AG, established in 1999 and headquartered in Planegg, Germany, focuses on the creation and commercialization of biosimilar pharmaceutical products. The company's diverse pipeline includes several key drug candidates. Prominently featured is FYB201, a biosimilar designed to emulate Lucentis, which is an ophthalmic medication prescribed for conditions such as neovascular age-related macular degeneration and other serious eye diseases. Additionally, FYB202 is a biosimilar version of Stelara, a biologic drug utilized in managing inflammatory conditions like moderate to severe psoriasis, as well as Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis; this compound is currently undergoing Phase III clinical trials. Another significant project is FYB203, a biosimilar replicating Eylea, also in Phase III clinical trials for the treatment of neovascular age-related macular degeneration and various other ocular ailments. Beyond these, Formycon is also progressing with the development of FYB206, and FYB207, an antiviral agent aimed at treating COVID-19. To ensure the stability of its pipeline products, the company has forged a partnership with Leukocare AG for formulation development. The company, initially known as Nanohale AG, officially rebranded as Formycon AG in 2012.
