Bavarian Motor Works AG, commonly known as BMW, is a globally operating enterprise that engineers, manufactures, and distributes automobiles and motorcycles, alongside related spare parts and accessories. The company's business activities are segmented into three core areas: Automotive, Motorcycles, and Financial Services. The Automotive division oversees the entire process of developing, producing, assembling, and selling passenger vehicles, parts, accessories, and mobility solutions, under its prominent BMW, MINI, and Rolls-Royce brands. These vehicles are sold through a network of independent and authorized dealerships worldwide. The Motorcycles segment focuses on the design, manufacturing, assembly, and sale of motorcycles and scooters under the BMW Motorrad brand, in addition to their associated spare parts and accessories. Lastly, the Financial Services arm provides a wide array of services, including vehicle leasing, financing for both retail customers and dealerships, multi-brand fleet management, customer deposit services, and insurance, with fleet management specifically offered via its Alphabet brand. Founded in 1916, BMW is headquartered in Munich, Germany.
