Occidental Petroleum Corporation, along with its affiliated companies, is engaged in the acquisition, exploration, and development of petroleum and natural gas resources across the United States, the Middle East, Africa, and Latin America. The enterprise operates through three principal business divisions. Its Oil and Gas segment is dedicated to discovering, developing, and producing crude oil, condensate, natural gas liquids (NGLs), and natural gas. The Chemical division manufactures and markets fundamental chemicals like chlorine, caustic soda, chlorinated organic compounds, potassium chemicals, ethylene dichloride, chlorinated isocyanurates, sodium silicates, and calcium chloride, as well as vinyl products including vinyl chloride monomer, polyvinyl chloride, and ethylene. The Midstream and Marketing segment oversees the gathering, processing, transportation, storage, procurement, and sale of various commodities such as oil, condensate, NGLs, natural gas, carbon dioxide, and electricity. This segment also conducts trading activities leveraging its transportation and storage assets and makes strategic investments in related ventures.
